Chrissy had her weekly appointment today at OSU. While at the appt we were updated of the twins progress. The latest on the twins is mixed news:
Both Baby Luke and Matthew are now 26 wks and are showing less fluid in there lungs. Baby Matthew is progressing very well with little fluid still surrounding his strong heart.
Baby Luke is having a hard time and continues to show more problems with his heart. Lukes little heart is almost twice the size of Matthews and shows damage throughout, though no longer surrounded by extra fluid. The Doctor is happy with the lack of fluid, yet very concerned with the hearts size and structural issues.
Another concern today is the decision of choosing to let the babys remain in Chrissy or move forward with birth. The Doctors don't want to deliver babies that are sick and months early, yet are seeing Luke continue to decline and want to give the babies the best chance of survival. Please continue to pray for baby Luke that he will stay strong and that his heart will improve. Also for the continuation of progress for baby Matthew.Chrissy has appointments Tuesday in Dayton, Friday at Columbus Children's to meet with a heart specialist, and at OSU to check for improvement and make some decisions on what steps to take.
